The Symbolist

Symbols are the key to unlocking the mystery of the Self.

For as long as I can remember, I have been on a quest of self-discovery. I have completely identified with the words of Hermes, “He who knows the self, knows the All.” One of my highest and most compelling values and desires is growth — to self-actualize and realize my greatest personal potential.

The famous psychologist Carl Jung popularized the concept of the “individuation process”. According to June Singer, a renowned expert on Jungian analysis and psychology, individuation is the process of becoming whole. In her words,

“That goal is wholeness, which is the integration of the parts of the personality into a functioning totality. Here conscious and unconscious are united around the symbols of self.”

Upon deep reflection, I realized that there are three themes that have played themselves out in many different ways throughout my life. These themes could be characterized as the archetypes of The Seeker, The Artist, and The Healer.

The Seeker has been on a spiritual quest for Love and Truth since a very early age. She has traveled far through deserts, mountains, church sanctuaries, Bible studies, Mayan ruins, workshops, retreats, meditations, and the study of everything spiritual both old and new, near and far. In the end, she ultimately found peace in her own heart in a profound and personal relationship with the Divine. The Seeker eventually came to rest from her wandering and was ultimately transformed into The Priest. She now works symbolically to help connect others to their hearts and to Divine love and wisdom.

The Artist showed up very early in life and spent many hours in her imagination. Her many hours of doodling and rendering set the stage for an education in design and a 20 year career designing logos for thousands of businesses in all 50 U.S. States and 15 foreign countries. The Artist very quickly grasped the concepts of symbol and allegory and realized that she was not only drawing intuitively from the collective unconscious, but was drawing intuitively from the vibration of the person in front of her. She was “tuning up” to people and organizations and capturing their core essence on paper. The Artist expanded her palette to include not only graphic design, but graphic facilitation, Kinesthetic Modeling, and other mediums to capture ideas, people and organizations in ways that inspire, empower, and create clarity and direction.

The Healer began her journey as The Victim. At first, her quest was for healing for herself—to find what seemed to be missing or broken and “fix it”.  After many years of internal work, she ultimately came to a place of integration and wholeness. In gratitude, she committed herself to helping others with their own healing process and journey into wholeness. The Healer recognized and interpreted The Body Symbolic and not only became certified as a Bowen Practitioner to do bodywork, but cultivated another bodywork modality she would call Symbolic Regression. She knew intuitively that her discoveries that had come through The Seeker as well as The Artist gave her powerful tools for her journey and were something she needed to share with others.

Most recently, I have integrated all three Archetypes into a unified whole — The Symbolist. My gifts for interpreting and creating symbols have many expressions and are useful to a variety of individuals and organizations. It is really one gift that comes from One Source but has many unique and beneficial expressions.

There is no greater gift one person can give to another than to illuminate who they really are.

I believe that every person and organization I work with is a unique work of art and it is my pleasure and privilege to make that visible to my clients and to the world.
